Well-known Somerset designer and entrepreneur, Roger Saul, is the latest high profile businessperson to become an Ambassador for the county’s inward investment body, Into Somerset.
Best known for creating and growing the iconic British fashion label Mulberry, Saul has latterly become a guru in the organic food and regeneration world, establishing Sharpham Park as one of the leading producers of Spelt and now one of the country’s leading organic food companies. He was a curator for HRH Prince Charles’ Eco Start event for electric vehicles and is now a director of EERVC, one of the leading electric race car organisations in the world.
More recently, Saul’s attentions have been focused on his latest venture – the new multi-million pound Designer Emporium at Kilver Court in Shepton Mallet, which he launched in mid-2011. Already the home of the Mulberry Factory Shop, the Kilver Court regeneration is a designer brand outlet village with beautiful gardens; top-quality food facilities and pop-up restaurants;
“Somerset is one of the most magical counties in England,” says Saul. “I have created many different types of business here that have all been people related and there couldn’t be a better location in which to work and live – after all, work/life balance is such a vital part of today’s frenetic existence. I am delighted to support Into Somerset’s great endeavour to encourage other businesses into the area and am honoured to be an Ambassador for the cause.”
Rupert Cox, Chief Executive of Into Somerset, comments, “We are delighted to welcome Roger Saul as an Ambassador for Into Somerset. It’s great for us to have yet another of Somerset’s leading entrepreneurs and international, iconic brands on board, helping to promote Somerset as a fantastic, inspiring place to do business.
“Into Somerset’s Ambassadors are an invaluable resource for the county, spreading the word far and wide about how great it is to do business here. Somerset’s entrepreneurial heritage and culture is second to none and we are always delighted to show new businesses what we have to offer in Somerset and support them in their creation or relocation.”
Located in the heart of the South West, Somerset is extremely well-connected thanks to its excellent road and rail links, with London only two hours away and a choice of international airports on the doorstep. A recent multi-million pound government investment in Somerset’s superfast broadband connection will ensure that businesses within the county can become even more competitive, adding to its already impressive £9billion economy.
Into Somerset offers a tailored business relocation service, giving advice and information to facilitate the process.
