Niki's pretty little nostalgia shop over looking Market Place found itself blocked from view of potential customers. It was not surprising that the grey corrugated facade of the historic Market Cross became an oppressive sight and effected trade for several months. There were no signs to help the hidden businesses, you can imagine!
But now the project is finished and the oppression of the town has once again been lifted.......
Nostalgia at No.1 has a new uplifting view and has filled her shop with cheerful handmade and vintage Christmas gifts. If you are passing its worth a look before you head into the mass produced stores.
Bring back the traditional touches of bygone eras and make it a special Christmas this year!
Thanks so much for this lovely blog post, B! I have a fantastic view of the newly renovated Market Cross (its one of the reasons I chose the shop in the first place, and I consider it a privilege to have it outside my doors.) - but am thankful that the majority of the work is now complete and I can think about Christmas - I've been making lots of festive treats and finding vintage treasures to add to the shop's shelves.

I love seeing Niki's treasures, just wish I lived near enough to visit....... one day!
