Shepton Mallet Prison - Creating a Vision

A Facebook Page has been set up by Claire Sully, co-founder of Digital Arts Festival, to capture ideas for the future of Shepton Mallet Prison. There are several developers interested in the project,
all with similar concepts ...hotel, gallery, museum etc. It will be interesting to follow the community's ideas for this vast, grade II* listed site www.facebook.com
HMP Shepton Mallet opened in 1625 and closed on 28 March 2013.
Here is a reminder of what the original doors looked like from the early part of the prison.
Many were painted green and covered with graffiti.

Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival

A reminder! The deadline is fast approaching to enter the Digital Arts Festival competition to be held at Kilver Court this year.
At the heart of the festival is the aim to develop new talent in the digital arts - to give aspiring digital artists the chance to learn from and get noticed by the people and businesses who are already successful in their field, for the benefit of both.
The festival has been an important stepping stone for a number of young artists who have gone on to start building a career for themselves on the back of the experience and exposure it has given them.
