RESTAURANT WATCH - The Sheppey Inn

When Mark and Lizzie bought the Sheppey Inn we were disappointed it wasn't a pub in their home town Shepton Mallet. Mark originally transformed The Wookey Hole Inn (now sold) and touched it with the same gold as the quirky pub on the moors in Godney.

Mark and Lizzie have transformed a little forgotten pub into a cool gastro pub and restaurant.

A large converted barn now offers a light roomy restaurant space opening up onto decking and overlooking the river Sheppey. Lots of table space...but you are still best to book, it's a popular location.

There are local ales and ciders including all kinds of one-offs, speciality brews and fantastic food.

The gallery style walls feature new exhibitions.

......and a feast for the eyes too with the quirky collection of retro finds and curiosity's

People come from miles around due to the brilliant, eclectic musicians it attracts.

The river and the open meadow views make this a real jewel in the heart of Somerset.
