New Year, New Opportunities

Blog & Logo Design
When I was introduced to the work of Great Ostry Picture Framers owned by Will & Cath Dunscombe, I was pleasantly surprised at the conservation work and unusual objects they had framed over 20 years. It was time for a change, to showcase their work on-line. A Blog was the perfect platform.

My immediate thought was that the name 'Picture' Framing didn't encompass their conservation work and a slight tweek in the name would change its perception dramatically.

The name Great Ostry Framing, Conservation Specialists expressed the craftsmanship of their work.
I retained the classic appearance of their previous identity and selected a new classic font.
The new linear design of the logo represents a picture frame but also an engineered  impression.
A muted grey-green replaced a dark green and now portrays a heritage feeling to their identity, in keeping with many historical artefacts they are asked to frame.

I was delighted to be asked for my professional design input. Will and Cath now compile blog posts themselves to showcase their work and tell a few stories about the unusual items they frame. 18th Century shoes found in a Georgian House, Antique Pellum Puppets and a pair of tongs once owned by the Steeplejack Fred Dibnah have been some of their many challenges.

I send my best wishes to Will and Cath and hope their new  on-line identity brings them a kick start to the New Year!
