'Talent in the town'

No21 is featuring talented ceramic artist Joanna Lucksted

Joanna was inspired after studying carved marble sculptures of Bishops, prominent clergy in Wells Cathedral and figurative chess sets. Pawns have become guardians or angels and the Bishop has lent itself to becoming an archangel.

Each Angel is sculpted to give them individual features and 'personality' they are made from white earthenware and aged using manganese dioxide and transparent glaze, in the third firing metal lustre’s or on-glaze enamel colour is applied.

The whole process takes three weeks.
Archangels and Guardians are available to buy at No21 or we will take orders....for very special gifts
